1. Why did I receive a Privacy Notice?
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley federal privacy law was amended to require this new format for privacy notices, so that consumers can more easily compare forms and better understand what information is being collected and shared. The format is based on the findings of a multi-year study conducted by the FTC and the banking regulators.
Infiniti has not changed its policy on how your information is collected or shared. We continue to protect your information at the highest level possible.
2. Do I have to do anything?
No, this Notice is for your information only.
3. What information does IFS share about me?
IFS only shares information about your account history.
4. Can I control how my information is used?
No, Infiniti only shares information as permitted by law and as indicated on the Privacy Notice. If Infiniti shared your information with companies not related to us, you would be able to control the sharing.
5. Under what circumstances would IFS share my social security number?
IFS does not share your social security number with any affiliate or anyone not associated with Infiniti. Your social security number will be provided to credit reporting agencies in order to match your account to your credit report. This sharing is required by federal law.
6. Why aren't dealers affiliates of Infiniti?
Affiliates are companies under the same ownership or control. Nissan and Infiniti dealers are completely separate entities and are not owned or controlled by Nissan North America, Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation or Infiniti Financial Services.
7. What is an incentive, discount or bonus, in California?
This refers to special offers to you, IFS's existing or prospective customer if you continue to do business with IFS when you obtain a new retail installment contract or lease.
